I feel led to explain to people the mission and intended purpose of “The Power Line”. As an ordained minister and a Christian, I have seen and talked with so many people who feel that they have been lost between the cracks of the church.

One woman told of her daughter committing suicide. She went to church, but no one wanted to hear her “negativity”. They only wanted to hear about miracles and positive examples.

One man, who has gone on to meet the Lord, expressed that he was not allowed to come into a church until he shaved his beard, cut his hair and “looked presentable”.

There are so many people who “know” about the Lord but they will not attend church for one reason or another.

They will not attend a Christian concert or go to a revival. How will they hear of the love, forgiveness and salvation of the Lord, Jesus Christ if we do not leave the walls of the church building and take The Church (God’s children) unto all the world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God never said to have programs or concerts to bring the world (sinners) to the church. God said to go into the world. We must go to them. We must love them. We must not only tell them of Jesus, we must show them what being a Christian is all about.

Some of the things in this magazine may make you mad. They may bring a tear to your eye. Hopefully we will cause you to think about where you are and what you are as a Christian. A Christian is love. What kind of love? We read in 1 Corinthians 13 (New Testament in Modern Speech”:

1If I can speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but am destitute of Love, I have but become a loud-sounding trumpet or a clanging cymbal. 2If I possess the gift of prophecy and am versed in all mysteries and all knowledge, and have such absolute faith that I can remove mountains, but am destitute of Love, I am nothing. 3And if I distribute all my possessions to the poor, and give up my body to be burned, but am destitute of Love, it profits me nothing.

4Love is patient and kind. Love knows neither envy nor jealousy. Love is not forward and self-assertive, nor boastful and conceited. 5She does not behave unbecomingly, nor seek to aggrandize herself, nor blaze out in passionate anger, nor brood over wrongs. 6She finds no pleasure in injustice done to others, but joyfully sides with the truth. 7She knows how to be silent. She is full of trust, full of hope, full of patient endurance.

8Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if there are languages, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be brought to an end. 9For our knowledge is imperfect, and so is our prophesying; 10but when the perfect state of things is come, all that is imperfect will be brought to an end. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, felt like a child, reasoned like a child: when I became a man, I put from me childish ways. 12For the present we see things as if in a mirror, and are puzzled; but then we shall see them face to face. For the present the knowledge I gain is imperfect; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13And so there remain Faith, Hope, Love—these three; and of these the greatest is Love.

God loved us “unconditionally”. If not, we would all go to hell. We deserve it. The only way to salvation is Jesus Christ through repentance of our sin. If our sins were not forgiven, if our lives were not changed, then we might consider the extent of our salvation.

In short, we are not here to entertain you, we are not here to condemn you, we are not here to lift up ourselves. Power Line Magazine is here to help us learn of Jesus, Love and Forgiveness.

Grace covers a multitude of sins. Grace is love, Love is the 11th Commandment: John 13:34,35.

If we do not love “uncondiionally” and forgive, we do not deserve to call ourself “Christian”
