Logan Smith

14 years old

Great Voice

Big Future!

I have seen Logan Smith perform twice recently.  The first time was in Louisville, Kentucky at the National Quartet Convention and the second time was in Columbus, Ohio at the Gibson Homecoming Concert.
I first thought that Logan was an older person with a very young looking face.  Then I found out that Logan Smith was just 14 years old.
I heard comments that his voice was like Vestal Goodman.  I even asked him in the interview if he was old enough to know who Vestal Goodman was.  His response showed that he indeed knew who she was.  Perhaps hearing her music as he grew up may have attributed to his sounding like Vestal Goodman.
As expected, in talking with Logan, he was noticeably new to the kind of attention being a Southern Gospel Singer brings.   The innocense of a fourteen year old was evident.  However, his talent is that of someone much older.
His concerts shows both.  Innocent and talented with an added touch of simplicity.  When Logan sings, Logan sings.  No pretense or pre-rehearsed presentations.
When Logan was seven years old, he was asked to sing at his grandfather’s church.  It took some encouragement but he sang some Goodman favorites and brought the house down.  Logan has been singing ever since.
Logan has sang on The Gaither Homecoming Tour in 2008 thanks to Jeff & Sheri Easter.
Logan has attended the National Quartet Convention since 2008.  His music career just keeps rising and rising.  It will be a delight to follow him as he matures, gains experience and finds more self-confidence.
I’m sure you will fall in love with Logan, not only for his talent, but also for his spirit.  This is evident in my interview with  Logan at the Gibson Homecoming just before Christmas.

   Listen to his interview here.
I have been amazed at the number of young people who are becoming involved with Southern Gospel Music.  It is evident that the Lord is bringing His Story to the youth.  Remember, the youth of today are not all lost.  As long as there are young people like Logan Smith and others I have interviewed lately, th Gospel of Jesus Christ is indeed being presented well.
